Confirel integrated in the first economic mission of the Francophonie in Cambodia

In early 2022, a delegation of 70 economic and institutional operators from the French-speaking world will come to Cambodia to build business relationships in the agri-food, renewable energy and digital goods and services sectors. Confirel has been selected by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to present its products and activities in the agri-food sector to this delegation. This operation was organized by the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) which includes 88 member states and governments from Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania. The delegation will be led by Louise Mushikiwabo, the secretary general of the OIF.

“The main objective is to develop trade links, and this goes both ways. What would be the opportunities for these French-speaking companies in Cambodia? Should they invest, create joint ventures with local Cambodian companies, could they export products here, or could they source products in Cambodia,” told to the Phnom Penh Post Soreasmey Ke Bin, president of the French-Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is involved in the event.

“Cambodian companies will also be looking for business and investment opportunities in these very different countries. To be honest, this will be a first, so I’m not sure we can expect any direct economic or business results from this, but the most important thing is to create links and relationships, the next step will be for a Cambodian delegation to join the next Francophonie trade mission to Africa next summer,” he added.
